new spring 'do
fun with death cab for cutie
last monday we went to see death cab for cutie at the holland center with ra ra riot and the cold war kids.
it was amazing.
probably one of my all time favorite concerts.
the holland is not only stunning but sounds immaculate.
every note was perfect not muddied down by horrible acoustics like normal venues.
i could have listened to them for a year straight- it was that perfect.
i litrealy loved every last second of the show.
videos to come...

upcake
i just got a postcard in the mail saying i need to renew my plates. big boo.
i always thought personal plates for your car were super expensive...so i never even asked how much they were.
today i decided to ask my mom how much her RNTLC4U (registered nurse tender love & care for you) plates were and was pleasantly surprised to hear only around $25 a year.
what a bargain for a little personally on a normally boring honda...
so i said i would get mine to say cupcake.
got home went online to the nebraska dmv- someone already has them. big boo again.
the following are also unavailable:
cup cake
cup kake
cupkake
kup cake
kup kake
kupcake
...ok you are getting my point all the good ones were taken...
all except for UPCAKE- so i applied for them!
upcake might be confusing to people- but i already have a big old johnny cupcakes sticker on the back of my car... if people dont get it- it's their loss.
UPCAKE it is. :)

just remember...
...when life is tough -keep calm and carry on...
this is an old WWII era poster that was issued by the british government during wartime to try to keep the public informed, and as free from panic as possible.
more recently this poster was created to do the same.
i just ordered a copy of this print and love it already!
it's pretty much true- as long as you keep calm and have a cupcake life is good.

i loved every minute of it!
so rockin and fun!
after the service we went to the upstream for brunch and i also loved every minute of that. they were super busy and our party of 11 (joel's fam and my fam)got separated at 2 tables so we decided to do the logical thing and have a girls table and a boys table...haha. my moms response to our choice, 'i like that' so did we.
good times, good food and good conversation was had by all.

there's an anchor for my soul...
the past few days i have been thinking of this song, when i think of my friend who just passed away.
i heard it this morning and then i heard it again after natalie's rocking southern baptist funeral that featured the omaha gospel choir.
when i was sitting in the upstairs choir pit of that packed church today surrounded by voices today all singing gospel- it made me feel at peace.
i truly found peace in my soul.
i have always loved the song 'it is well with my soul' and i love this new chris tomlin song 'i will rise' every time the choir kicks in a get qoosebumps.
that's how i felt today in the hot and crowded church...goosebumps of joy.
i find comfort in my faith, i think without that life would be unbearable some days.
i know before natalie passed she got things right with God and she is now celebrating with him in heaven.
i must say this was both the longest (2 hours) and most inspirational funeral i have ever been to.
i want a gospel choir at my funeral someday.
i want to go out with a booming bass, joyful noise and praises to God for a life lived well.
just like my dear friend miss natalie rochelle love did today.
(ps- chris tomlin's new cd that this song is on is called 'hello love'...how cool is that?)
