today was the ketv, childrens, red cross holiday blood drive at millard north high school.
i tell you what...i don't think i could do live interviews at 6 a.m. for any other company. waking up at 4 to be ready to let photogs in by 5 is no fun- but i am glad to be able to help get the word out that we need blood! if you would like to send an ecard to invite others to give click here.

tonight we went to the crescent moon ale house and then went down to visit the huber haus- a german bier hall! to get das boot. it was good to see meleah again. here are the rules to the boot...that i just learned about when we got home...next time we will follow the rules.

• Rules of the Boot •

1. The BOOT must travel clockwise around the table.
2. The BOOT may never touch the table, if you set it down you buy the next boot.
3. The toe of the BOOT must always point away from the drinker, if it doesn't drink again!
4. The BOOT must be "flicked" with your finger before passing it - forget, and drink again!
5. If the BOOT splashes the drinker, drink again!
6. The person that passed the BOOT to the person that finishes it buys the next BOOT.
7. (repeat)

with the recent snow and ice storms across the state our blood supplies are getting low. we are currently considered stable at a 3 to 5 day supply but we like to be at a 5-7 day supply. some of our blood types like O negative are down to under a two day supply. and with the holidays getting closer we usually see up to an 5% decrease in donations from dec 23-jan 1. so basically...we need your blood!!

please consider giving the gift of life this holiday season to patients in need...it only takes about an hour from start to finish...

and patients can't take a holiday from needing blood.

as much as i try to think of the right words to say i just can't.
i just cant believe it happened...even a week later.

to my poor friends that had to experience that: i'm sorry. i don't know what to say besides i am here for you to listen. you are in my continual prayers. i pray you can someday walk into the mall and have no fear. that you will not let this boy ruin your life. that you may let this experience make you the fighters you are. that you will learn what really matters in life and live everyday like it was your last. that you will have peace in your heart and in your soul. that you may understand the love of god and how he has a plan for you and this horrible day that you will never forget. girls, you are here today because you were meant to be. you have a lot of living to do and a lot of lip gloss to wear. you have a lot of sun to feel on your pretty little powdered and bronzed faces.

to the families of the people who were killed: i am sorry you had to lose your loves. i pray for an over whelming peace to fill your hearts and heal them. hold your loved ones a little tighter and forgive. don't let hate consume your life. be bigger than that person. laugh and live for the ones who can't...that's what they would want you to do i bet.

to the rest of the world: the same thing i wish for my friends. that you will find peace in this madness and love one another.

hobgoblin steak and ale pie

i have been in love with steak and ale pie ever since london.
i dream of the golden goose pub and their glorious steak and ale pies with mash and peas.
last night i invited my london pals over for some homemade pie...with mash, ale and peas of course.
...it was not too shabby if i might say so myself.

please send out some prayers for the victims of the westroads mall shooting.

there are currently nine dead and some 14 injured...

i worked there for two years and have a ton of close friends still working there.

praise God they have been accounted for.

there are quiet a few people that i knew from customer service that have been injured and we do not know their current status.

please pray that God grants them and their families peace as this nightmare unrolls.

and please pray for my friends that witnessed this horrible scene.

things i did this weekend.

had dinner in bellevue with my dad, who came to town from okc, joel, megan and cameron.

watched reign on me- with adam sandler...it was sad but good.

shot the picasso's ladies portraits.

went to see fred clause...it was cute.

had a huge baked potato with my dad at jason's deli.

went to the mart to buy a sweet tv, well ok my dad did the buying.

watched i now pronounce you chuck and larry...much funnier than the other adam sandler movie we watched the night before.

had kyle's birthday dinner with the schlegs/carseys and my dad. we had some amazing cheesecake and tiramisu.

did loads and loads of laundry.

took a nap.

went to spamalot with linsey.

all in all- a great weekend.

always look on the bright side of life...

tonight linsey and i went to see spamalot.
it was boarderline amazing...jk- it WAS amazing.

i loved every minute of it.
the killer rabbits.
the not quite dead guy.
the guy with a flesh wound.
the french guy who fart in your general direction.
the knights of the round table- that dance when they are able.
the knights that say ni.
basically everything...
