tonight brent, my step-brother and red cross co-worker, attended the 2008 omaha chinese culture night and fundraising dinner on behalf of the red cross.
it was a night of wonderful chinese food, music, dance and martial arts.
all of the money they raised is going to support the chinese red cross after the may 2008 earthquake that killed 80,000 people and to the local red cross after the june 2008 storms in the midwest that caused over $2 billion dollars in losses.
my favorite part of the night was the lion dance.
the lion dance is believed to bring luck and happiness.
