5 fantastic years...

tonight me and mr joel celebrated our 5th anniversary...
i know i know- we are married now.
but i wanted to celebrate when we first fell in love back in the day.

we went on a date tonight.
we ate awesome food at vincenzo's
i had salmon soto and joel had a gorgonzola steak.
they were delicious.

after that we went to see the new wes anderson film we have been waiting for.
the darjeeling limited was also delicious.

i feel in love with wes anderson years ago.

all of his movies are amazingly fresh and funny.
if you haven't seen them i recommend you do.
i have seen them all- and own half of their soundtracks.

Bottle Rocket
(1996)
Rushmore (1998)
The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004)
The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
Hotel Chevalier (2007)

thanks for a great date mr joel.
and a great 5 years...

five minute photo shoot...

we did a five minute engagement photo shoot the other night in between when i got off work and mandy and zach headed to a rehearsal dinner for his sisters wedding...
but we somehow managed to get a few nice shots.
...i can't wait to see this wedding!

hayracks, bonfires and birthdays oh my!

friday night kayla had one heck of birthday party.
we had a hayrack ride, bonfire and tons of fun.
too bad my allergies didn't have as much fun...

kayla even got punk'd.
it was a good ol' time.

windsor...

i had a dream last night that i was headed back to the u.k.
i forgot my electric converters and lancome skin care at home and went back from the airport to look for it and was late for my flight...
very bizarre and stressful.
this has been part of an on going series of travel dreams- that all involve me trying to get somewhere and always forgetting something. last time i forgot my new passport holder and went back for it too.
maybe it's a sign that my eagerness to travel so soon is premature...
maybe next summer?

anyways...tonight i found the windsor castle: a royal year special on on net tv and thought how cool that ive actually been to windsor- seen the castle, stood in my first british phone booth and had fish and chips there with my good friends.

anyone else got my travel fever?

the chocolate cloud

is the name or our new sofa.
much bigger than that tiny ikea sofa we had and 1000% more comfortable.
it seats 4 comfortably- including the kind people that helped us move it in.
thanks kyle, geo and linsey for hanging out with me while they moved it.
it is so big some of our feet dont even touch the ground.
we love it.
...now for the house with a bigger living room.

ps- blood donation update:
i got deferred due to my time spent in south korea this year.
dang malaria infested country.
next june you better believe i will be in there trying again.

work week 2...

so far work has been great.
i have learned so much information in 2 weeks- that i feel like im back in school.
...but i love every minute of it.
i haven't had a job that i have felt so strongly about wanting to learn more and more about until now.
i want to know everything about blood services.
i want to be the best i can be for the red cross.
i learned so much at my all staff meeting in st. paul and love my whole team.
i feel so proud to represent them in the midwest region as their pr person and can't wait to launch my 16 year old donor program next week!
and tomorrow i will be attempting to donate blood for the first time.
wish me luck.
